Design Features
Self Locking
Threaded closure locks automatically when nut detent mechanism engages the detents along the face of the body. Assembly and disassembly are performed by hand without tools.
Meets Commercial Requirements
Coupling design has been qualified to all applicable commercial specification requirements for flexible fuel coupling systems with service pressures of 125 PSIG (operating), 330 PSIG (proof), and 375 PSIG (burst), plus surge pressures to 270 PSIG and temperatures from -65°F to 450°F.
Self Bonding
Electrical bonding per MIL-B-5087B to 10 milliohms maximum is automatically provided.
Flexible
Axial adjustment is per table dimension "D" and angular misalignment is ±4° for full coupling.
Coupling Flanges
The coupling flanges are mechanically attached (swaged or welded) to tube ends. Information about tooling and installation procedure is available from Hydraflow upon request.
Lightning Protection
Lightning protection is provided to at least 2500 amperes when tested in accordance with MIL-STD-1757A test method T03 using current component B waveshape.
Non-captive
The 16J09 coupling is a captive version that provides a 25% weight savings over the non-captive version. See 16J02 for the non-captive version.
