Design Features

Variable Cavity

The 12J36 is a variable cavity type coupling, designed for connecting beaded tube ends.

Load Retention Safeguard

All pressure loads are retained by the split retainer that keeps the two tube ends from separating. This provides an extra safety factor, because in the unlikely event of a failure of the split retainer the pressure load would be picked up and retained by the nut and coupler shoulder.

Retighten Anytime

The coupling can be retightened at any time in service to increase sealing pressure on coupling seals.

Flexible

The coupling will provide a minimum ¼" axial adjustment and a maximum of ±4° angular misalignment.

Product Notes

1. Seals are not furnished with these assemblies. For clarity they are shown in phantom outline. Seal material is selected and seals are separately procured by user. For additional information see notes 1 & 2 under "Ordering Information".
2. The 12C36-(SIZE)A Sleeve Body material is 2024-T851 aluminum alloy or equivalent, anodized with dichromate seal.
   The 12C36-(SIZE)C Body Assembly material is 300 series CRES or equivalent, passivated.
3. The 12N36-(SIZE)A Nut Assembly material is: Nut-2024-T851 aluminum alloy or equivalent, anodized. Threads are solid film lubricated. Ring-2024-T851 aluminum alloy or equivalent, anodized with dichromate seal.
   The 12N36-(SIZE)C Nut Assembly material is: Nut-303 CRES, passivated. Threads are solid film lubricated. Ring-300 series CRES, passivated.
4. The 12R36-(SIZE)A Split Retainer material is 2024-T851 aluminum alloy or equivalent, anodized with dichromate seal.
   The 12R36-(SIZE)C Split Retainer material is 300 series CRES, passivated.
5. The 12W36-(SIZE)A Split Washer material is 2024-T851 aluminum alloy or equivalent, anodized, black. Solid film lubricated over entire part.
   The 12W36-(SIZE)C Split Washer material is 300 series CRES, passivated. Solid film lubricated over entire part.
6. Coupling assembly weights shown in table below do not include seals.
